Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - formed by a large volcano that exploded and collapsed onto itself two or three million years ago - is the world’s largest inactive , intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It is 2000 feet deep and its 100 mile square floor is 5,900 feet above sea level. Natural migration is limited in this echo system and some of Tanzania’s animal species are rarely seen here. The crater images presented here - Lion; Black Rhino, Cape Buffalo, African Elephant and hippopotamus - were mostly captured during rainy season in this natural wonder.
