The Khutzeymateen

The Khutzeymateen, Canada’s only Grizzly Sanctuary, is located on the northern coast of British Columbia - at the tip of a long and remote fjord. Here there are no roads, settlements, or campsites. This pristine wilderness is closed to the public. It’s not totally ‘bears only’, however, as a few professional guides have license to lead small groups into the Khutzeymateen Estuary; the heart of an extraordinary ecosystem of rugged mountains, old growth forests, eagles, seals and grizzlies.
